Abstract
Rad se bavi proučavanjem i razumijevanjem sastavnica prepoznatljivoga irskog identiteta kroz povijest do danas te istraživanjem koje su od istih najznačajnije u stvaranju i održavanju pozitivnoga imidža Iraca i Irske u Hrvatskoj i svijetu te na koje načine ova zemlja upravlja vlastitim nacionalnim identitetom. Irska je zemlja s bogatom poviješću, zemlja koja je prošla trnovit put do svog statusa danas – države s najbržim rastom gospodarstva u Europi, one koja teži prema punoj zaposlenosti i jedne od najpoželjnijih zemalja za strana ulaganja. Uz navedeno, Irska je neupitno europski, ali i svjetski primjer za izvrsnu promociju svog načina života, svojih prirodnih ljepota, izvornih proizvoda te mnogih drugih vrednota, a sve svoje pozitivne značajke izvrsno koriste kako bi stvorili i potvrdili sliku o svojoj zemlji kao idealnoj za život i još mnogo toga. Prema dostupnim podacima, na zelenom je otoku danas više od 18 000 Hrvata, a irsku su adresu odabrali iz mnogo razloga – zbog ekonomske razvijenosti, opuštenosti i vedrine njenih stanovnika, pozitivne atmosfere koja vlada u ovoj zemlji, ali i zbog mnogo sličnosti koje dijeli upravo s Hrvatskom.
Abstract (english)
This work is about studying and understanding components of recognizable Irish identity until today and researching which of them are the most important in establishing and mainteining positive image of Ireland in Croatia and worldwide. Further, it is about the ways how this country manages its national identity. Ireland is a country with a great history and passed a difficult path to its position today – a country with the fastest economical growth in Europe, the one who confidently goes to the full employment and one of the most prefered country for foreign investments. Ireland is unquestionably European and worldwide example for excellent promotion of their own way of living, natural beauty, original products and many other, and they use their every positive characteristic to create and confirm that their country is an ideal country for living, investment and enjoying. According to available data, more than 18 000 Croatian people are on a green island today and they choose Ireland for many reasons – high economical status, casual and joyful people, positive atmosphere, but also because of many similarities which Ireland and Croatia have.
